Art Classes for Adults

Jackie Cochran just may be the busiest woman in the arts in Ruston. Aside from owning an art gallery, By the Alley Art and Gift Shop, and developing art classes for children through her non-profit entity, she has even more on her plate. At hand with the opening of The Brown Building, a class space, she has booked informal art classes beginning July 1. The public is invited to meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 303 W. Gorgia Ave, Ruston. The schedule is as follows:

1. Monday: noon – 1 p.m.

Visual Venting -- Described sometimes as informal art therapy, the group will work with various mediums and materials to produce pieces that express personal current or past events. No need to be an "artist." Show up to have fun and blow some steam. $5, supplies and lunch provided.

2. Tuesday: 6 – 9 p.m.

Drawing/painting work group -- Several still life scenes will be set up for artists to draw or paint. Bring your own supplies, easels will be provided. $5.

3.
Thursdays 6- 9 p.m.:

Figure Drawing -- Various models will pose each week. Open to the public, $10 fee, easels provided. Bring your own drawing supplies.
